The Funniest POC Friendly Podcasts of 2020
If you're like me, you live in America during a global pandemic. That means I have a lot of extra time on my hands to pretend I'm back in 2015 and listen to podcasts. After listening to all 16, I've narrowed down the list to the funniest poc friendly podcasts of this year.
1. The Alexis Pereira Program
Politics? Check. Comedy? Check. Smart? Check please. The Alexis Pereira Program is hosted by comedian Alexis Pereira (Tom and Jerry essay tweet) and his lawyer Alex Estrada, and each week they bring on a guest to discuss the news. Rumor has it that HBO considers Alexis the heir apparent to Bill Maher. Real Time with Alexis Pereira? I'd buy that for a dollar.
2. All Dick Is Trash
Milly Tamarez (single, looking) hosts All Dick is Trash, a feminist podcast where the ladies discuss their favorite topic: men! Join Milly and the gang as they discuss their wants and desires, and use clues to guess the improvisers they now regret hooking up with.
3. Talking General Hospital with My Mom
Our first white woman on the list, I've included this podcast because Kristen Bartlett is both POC friendly and a person who has industry connections. Each week on Talkin' General Hospital with My Mom, Kristen chats with her mom (played by Jason Gore) about General Hospital, the show once famously hosted by George Clooney.
4. WTF with Marc Maron
Sure, he's a straight white man, but Marc has always welcomed POC guests like Barack Obama (Netflix). While not necessarily a "funny" podcast, I definitely always feel funny listening to his monologue.
Well that's my list. I'm sure there are many other podcasts out there and it's ok to listen to them. I just think you may want to start with these.
